Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI)—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country— continuously supports the Department of Education (DepEd) in ensuring that every Filipino student has access to high-quality education amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
PCPPI recently participated in DepEd’s annual Brigada Eskwela which ran from August 3 to September 30, 2021. Spearheaded by the company’s volunteerism arm, Bukluran Council, it turned over connectivity equipment, school supplies, and hygiene kits to partner schools. The company aims to ease the conduct of blended learning schemes this school year.
“We are committed to helping DepEd in keeping the education system accessible and equitable for all. As we recognize the role of education in molding our youth, we want to ensure that this is continued even during the pandemic,” said Vivian Cheong, PCPPI’s Chief Human Resource, Corporate Affairs, and Communications Officer.
PCPPI adopted 24 schools across the country, an addition of six schools from last year. The beneficiary schools belong to communities that host the company’s various manufacturing plants and offices. These include Manila, Muntinlupa, Mandaluyong, Batangas, Pampanga, La Union, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Leyte, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Zamboanga, Cagayan De Oro, and Davao.
The company also ran virtual seminars on disaster preparedness in five schools, and produced information materials and held virtual workshops on WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene).
PCPPI has been actively supporting Brigada Eskwela since 2018. It is the exclusive manufacturer of well-known beverage brands like Pepsi-Cola, Mug Root Beer, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, Sting, Premier, Milkis, and Aquafina.
