PCPPI launches Rooftop Solar Project, marks Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), in partnership with EEI Power Corporation, officially launched its rooftop solar project through a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at its Bacolod plant, marking the first operational site under the company’s nationwide renewable energy rollout.
The Bacolod installation forms part of PCPPI’s plan to deploy rooftop solar facilities across all its 11 manufacturing plants. Once fully implemented, the program will deliver a combined 8.34 megawatts of solar capacity, supplying approximately 14 percent of the company’s total power requirements and reducing its overall carbon footprint.
The ceremony was attended by PCPPI leaders led by President & CEO Phyo Phyu Noe; project partner EEI Power Corporation, led by Assistant Vice President and Solar Business Unit Head Andrew Zapanta Jr.; and Bacolod City Office of the Mayor Executive Assistant Patrick Lacson.
“For years, we talked about renewable energy and sustainability. We talked about the future we owe our communities. But talking is easy. Execution is harder. This year, we moved from intention to action,” Phyo said, reaffirming the company’s commitment to turning sustainability goals into concrete results.
“Covering 14 percent across all 11 of our industrial plants is not a slogan. It is real engineering, real investment, and real commitment. And Bacolod becomes the first plant where that commitment turns into light,” he added.
Underscoring the role of collaboration in advancing renewable energy adoption in the industry, Zapanta said: “Our collaboration is built on a shared vision: to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and create solutions that are both economically sound and environmentally responsible. This rooftop solar system is a testament to that vision—a tangible example of how partnerships can drive meaningful change.”
The event concluded with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, during which PCPPI leaders and partners symbolically switched on the solar facility—illuminating the tree and reinforcing PCPPI’s commitment to sustainability.
