Pepsi Philippines Supports Trees for Muntinlupa

August 14, 2016
Muntinlupa, Philippines - Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI), in keeping with its corporate social responsibility program, continues to deliver on its environmental commitments, this time spearheading a tree-planting activity that gathered together some 150 corporate volunteers under the umbrella of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Muntinlupa (PCCI-M), along with officials and employees of the state-run Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) and the local government unit of Muntinlupa City.

Dubbed “Trees for Muntinlupa,” about 300 saplings of Putat, Kamachile, and Sampaloc trees donated by the LLDA were planted recently near the shorelines of Laguna Lake. LLDA Administrator and concurrent Presidential Adviser on Environmental Protection Sec. Neric Acosta, Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, PCPPI president Furqan Ahmed Syed, and PCCI-M president Elvie Sanchez-Quiazon joined the volunteers for the greening activity. Photo shows Syed delivering his welcome address, stating that “Pepsi is one with LLDA and the city of Muntinlupa in the efforts to rehabilitate and conserve the lake’s resources. Our company has deep roots in Muntinlupa City since the 1960s, and we are here to support the city, its people, and the environment.”
